Family weekend outing to Daylesford

The Memorial Cross
On 10 August 2018 the founding members along with their family members visited the Daylesford-Hepburn Region in Victoria famous for its mineral waters. The region is known as the Spa Centre of Australia. Near Daylesford, at the summit of Mount Macedon, is the Memorial Cross which commemorates soldiers who gave their lives in World War I. Erected on a vantage point with glorious views, the Cross is 21 metres in height and 1001 metres above sea level. The original structure was unveiled in 1935, but due to storm and fire damage, it was replaced in 1995. After the Shrine of Remembrance, the Mount Macedon Memorial Cross is probably the most significant war memorial in Victoria.
