Family weekend outing to Daylesford

Events 10-11 Aug

On 10-11 Aug the founding members visited the Daylesford-Hepburn Region in Victoria famous for its mineral waters. It is known as the Spa Centre of Australia. At the summit of Mount Macedon near Daylesford is the Memorial Cross which commemorates soldiers who gave their lives in the 1914 – 1918 war. Erected on a vantage point with glorious views, the Cross is 21 metres in height and 1001 metres above sea level, the original structure was unveiled in 1935, but due to storm and fire damage, it was replaced in 1995. After the Shrine of Remembrance, the Mount Macedon Memorial Cross is considered to be the most significant war memorial in Victoria.
